Our History

Christ Apostolic Church Chapel of Glory District Headquarter has been a beacon of faith and transformation for many years. Firmly rooted in the Pentecostal heritage of Christ Apostolic Church worldwide - a pioneering indigenous African Pentecostal movement known for its deep commitment to prayer, revival, and the power of the Holy Spirit - our church stands as a place where lives are changed through the living Word of God.

From its earliest days, this church has served as a gathering place for worship, fervent prayer, and sound teaching. Over the years, it has grown into a spiritual home for people from all walks of life - a place where individuals encounter God's presence, families are nurtured, and communities are strengthened.

Though the exact year of our founding is part of a rich and unfolding story, our heritage reflects a far greater legacy - one that begins with the rise of Christ Apostolic Church itself. The CAC movement traces its roots to a devout group in Ijebu-Ode in 1918, known then as the Precious Stone or Faith Tabernacle Society. It came to life in power during the great revival of 1930, led by Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, marked by miraculous healings, deliverance, and spiritual awakening.

As the movement matured, it became widely recognized as the first Pentecostal church in Nigeria. Through prayer and divine guidance, the church transitioned through several names - Apostolic Church, Nigerian Apostolic Church, and United Apostolic Church - until, in the early 1940s, it became known as Christ Apostolic Church, the name it bears today.

Over the decades, CAC has established numerous institutions of growth and learning - Bible Training Colleges, Pastoral Training Schools, Schools of Prophets, Grammar Schools, a Press and Publication service, and a Theological Seminary - reflecting its commitment to spiritual formation and community development.

Today, Christ Apostolic Church has grown to bless more than five million members worldwide, with vibrant congregations in nations including the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, South Africa, Togo, Chad, and beyond.

Here at Chapel of Glory District Headquarter, we continue this Spirit-filled legacy — to glorify Christ, uplift lives, and shine as a light within our district and to the nations.
